CHANEL Stylo Eyeshadow - # 07 Moon River

"Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me."

- Moon River, Breakfast at Tiffany’s -

I went to check out last summer the L’Ete Papillon de Chanel Summer Collection for summer 2013 and I found this beautiful colour of the stylo eyeshadow named # 07 Moon River. The name reminds me of my favorite part in "Breakfast at Tiffany’s" movie, with the most memorable role of magnificent Audrey Hepburn wearing the most perfect of designer clothes and accessories, in this movie of all times that among all, puts together two things that I am very fond of: the idealized New York City with its growing beauty and of course Tiffany and Co. So I couldn't help it, I had to put the lyrics of this beautiful song. However, I am not here to talk cinema, so I will just continue with what I have just started to write about, Chanel's stylo eyeshadow swatch.

The product I have choosen wasn't available, as this whole collection was in a limited edition and it was immediately sold out. Luckily, I found it a month ago in one airports' dutyfree.

The Chanel stylo eyeshadow comes in a pen/stick form with a twist up mechanism very easy to use. The Collection includes 6 shades: Moon Rives, Jade Shore, Blue Bay, Black Stream, Pink Lagoon and Cool Gold.

# 07 Moon River is described as "platinum" shade. It is actually a metallic taupe shade with shimmery finish. But the shimmery effect is, I could say sophisticated, and not as you are going to a 1980s prom night. The taupe colour is one of my favorite colours whether it is for make up or for clothes. Sometimes it is not well understood and no one can actually describe it. But we can say it is a light brown or beige colour, having its own particularity.

The consistency is very wet-like with its cooling, water-infused formula, so when you apply it you feel this freshness on your eyes. Well, it is described as a Fresh Effect Eyeshadow and this is really what it is. The texture is creamy, so it glides smoothly for an even application. You can use it as eyeshadow or eyeliner. Also, you can wear it alone or with a darker eyeshadow or black eyeliner.
It is very compact and practical, so you can bring it with you everywhere.

Dior Addict Extreme lipstick - # 546 Gri Gri

You know me and the nudes, so once one is over, I am in a research for a new one as there are always new shades to try on.
This time, on my sisters' recommendation, I went for the new Dior Fall 2013 Mystic Metallics Make up collection and I found this beautiful nude shade which is Gri Gri # 546 from the Dior Addict Extreme palette.

Gri Gri is a real nude shade between soft pink and beige. The best thing about it is its texture. It is such a glossy lipstick with a shiny but no shimmery finish I just adore. It is very easy to apply as its creamy texture glides smoothly onto your lips. You feel your lips so moisturized and comfortable. The formula is so light without being slippery. It is the perfect everyday shade, that makes your lips look radiant and shiny but so natural. The wear time is fair enough, it lasts long enough as the colour is pigmented althoug the shiny effect goes away little by little. But it is a bit tricky to talk about the wear time as it depends a lot on what you are doing, whether you are eating, drinking, talking or none of that in which case the wear time is quite long.
A little advice, if you want it, go grab it as it is in a limited edition.

The packaging is so classy, a typical Dior wrap up which is lovely. But maybe a bit to big to put it in your tiny evening hand bag and also maybe a bit too obvious when you take it out to reapply. When saying this, one thing comes to mind which is the compact packaging of the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks easy to glide anywhere. But of course nothing can compare to Dior's Addict Extreme lipsticks which have a formula and texture you find nowhere.

Dior Addict Extreme lipstick retails for 30,50€ in Sephora Stores in France.

CHANEL Nail Colour - # 167 Ballerina

And here I am with one more swatch on a Chanel nail polish, this time about a colour I am currently so into.

#167 Ballerina is a creamy milky pale baby pink nude shade. The kind of shade that gives a clean look to the hands. It is an elegant shade that you can wear in every occasion and every season. Classy and trendy at the same time. It is the perfect shade also for french manicure.
As usual for Chanels' nail polishes, the application is easy and the polish goes on evenly delivering a high-shine colour. It is a very transparent colour, so you need to apply two thick coats, as I have applied on the swatched photos.

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine #79 Saga

In need for a new everyday pink lipstick, I went to check the new shades of my favorite Chanel lipsticks Rouge Coco Shine. And I found one right away, #79 Saga. It is one of the eight new shades of the Avant Première Spring 2013 Collection. As this shade is in limited edition, I was happy to find that it was still available in the store I went, which is not the case everywhere. So if you like this swatch and this lipstick, hurry to buy your #79 Saga Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, as it won't be in stores for long.
As I swatch regularly Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks, I won't repeat myself about the packaging and other details, but will go straight on the description of the colour and the texture.

#79 Saga is a warm medium pink shade with a soft creamy shine. I would also say that it is "bonbon rose" in French as a candy pink which describes the best this shade to me. As I most often buy lipsticks in nude shades, this is not a nude shade at all. It has an opaque finish and perfect as an everyday lipstick. This pink shade is perfect for every season, not just for summer (as it is a spring/summer collection). It's the perfect pink that gives your face a healthy and cheerful look. It will look lovely to all skin tones. The formula as usual is moisturizing and comfortable to wear. But your lips need to be scrubed and well hydrated before, because if they are dry, every small dry bit will show as you glide on. Compared to previous releases of Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks, this one is more pigmented and the wear time is longer than usual which is a positive thing.

The swatched photo above looks a bit different from the swatched photo below because of the flash. The swatched photo above shows the colour as it was a salmon pink which is true to some point, but I would stick more to the photo below as it shows the colour as it is, but just a bit more pinkish in normal light.

As a regular buyer of the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks, I must highlight the new price of these lipsticks since recently.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine retails now for 30,50€ in France, whereas the old price was 29,90€.

Giorgio Armani - High Precision Retouche Concealer

Since long years already I use this Armani's concealer, and I am not about to change it. As it is difficult maybe to find the right foundation that matches perfectly your skin tone and has a good texture, finding a good concealer is even more difficult, at least to me. That is why once you find it, you keep it. The Armani's High Precision Retouche is a concealer that wipes away dark circles, shadows, any imperfections and gives a fresh and brighten look of the area below your eyes. The reason I like it so much lies in its texture that is liquid, yet just a bit creamy and easy to apply. This is very important as the skin under the eyes is so thin that needs a special care. The liquid form gives also a more natural look and easy to wear feeling that a thick creamy concealer. It containts also vitamine E and moisturisers, a formula that makes you feel your eye zone confortable. High Precision Retouche concealer commes in 5 colours: 1 - ivory rose, 2 - ivory, 3 - pale peach, 3,5 - light sand (beige) and 4 - abricot beige.

I use the colour 3,5 - light sand which matches perfectly my skin tone under my eyes. I use it mostly for this zone as an everyday routine, but you can use it for any imperfection that you might have all over your face. It covers nicely any blemish or redness. It really gives a radiant looking undereye skin by covering beautifully the dark circles. You can use it with or without foundation. I usually put it once I have put my daily dose of BB cream or just over my moisturising cream and still it has a great coverage and gives a fresh look. Of course with a foundation the look is more compleate. The most important is that it doesn't mark the fine lines or wrinkles under the eyes as usually other concealers do espeacilly the thick creamy ones that make you look older.

The packaging is very nice as it comes in an opaque black tube with a beige strip on the side. Very tiny and easy to take it anywhere with you.

High precision retouch concealer is very easy to apply. It has an applicator with a skinny brush that allows you a precise application, but also to take just enough product out. It is smooth, glides on easily and highlights the complexion, all by giving a completely natural look. You can apply a bit of product and than even it with your fingers. The wear time is long enough and the tube has enought product for a long time, 1 year or even more if you don't use it everyday.

The price tag might make you think twice when buying this product, but for what it is, believe me it's worth it.

Giorgio Armani High precision retouch concealer retails for 36,50€ in France.

Guerlain - Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder
N°3 Brunette

My favorite brand for bronzing powders is Guerlain. I just finished the classic Terracotta bronzing powder in n°2 and I was very satisfied, so this time I went for their new product a so-called light version, relased last year. To me, Guerlain is the best brand specialised in bronzing powders which I highly recommend.

Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder exists in 4 shades: two for blonde n°2 and n°4 (more into bronzed pink tones) and two for brunette n°3 and n°5 (light and dark coral tones). It is ideal for every skin type as each powder shade has its own combination of colors that will match every skin complexion. The packaging is lovely. There is a mirror included, but no brush.

I purchased n°3 Brunette which contains a mosaic of 5 shades from peach beige through apricot coral to bronze brown. All combined, they give a natural "just got back from vacation" look and highlighted cheeks.  It includes a complexion highlighter that gives a sheer and luminous makeup finish, but you barely notice the shimmer, it just makes your skin glow naturally.
n°3 Brunette is the lighter version of the 2 shades for Brunette and it matches nicely my skin tone which is a neutral warm.

You can use it either as a bronzer or a blush. I use it mostly as a blush all over the year when my make up goes with more coral toned cheeks. When I am tanned, I use it also as a bronzing powder all over my face. It illuminates the sun kissed skin and gives a lovely natural look. It doesn't give an orange look like many other bronzers, so go for it. The chosen combination of colors is just perfect for your face to glow in a natural way.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder retails for 45€ in France.

Benefit - Instant Brow Pencil

I have never used a brow pencil or anything of a kind for my brows. Well, only for some special events when make up artists took care of my look and the brows were just a small detail at the finish but it gives a complete look. But since I tried on this product in Sephora beauty store, just like that, out of curiosity, to see the look it would give me, I loved it. And of course, sometimes, for a change, you need a new product in your makeup kit. It is not something that I really need for an everyday use, because my brows look fine, but as I said, just to have a complete look for some occasions. Many women do use a brow pencil everyday to fill in the gaps in their brows or to make them look even, or to have that complete look on daily basis.

Benefit Cosmetics is such a cheerful and girly brand, far from luxury appearance and close to cute with girly colors. I use a Benefit product for the first time and I am very satisfied with the brow pencil.

The brand has this product for a while now, and it sells well on the market. It comes in three shades — Light, Medium and Deep. The one I use is Medium, a real brown that matches quite good my brows color although a bit lighter that my natural brow brown. So, it gives a brighter look that matches even more with my hair color. It is the perfect brow pencil for soft and long lasting defined brows in an instant. It glides on easily and leaves a natural finish. On one side, you have a soft pencil; on the other, a spool brush for brow blending that I love.

These days, I have a thing for my brows, I prefer thicker eyebrows, so I use it quite often, and I can tell that it really changes the look of my face. Once at my parents place, I got up in the morning and applied only the brow pencil and my mum asked me how have I managed to put make up on my face as I just got out of bed. So the effect is here. Even without any makeup, when the eyebrows are looking perfect, your whole face looks differently.

It is very easy to apply, it looks very natural, it goes smoothly as it's creamy and it stays on very well for long time. You can not notice that a brow pencil was used but you can see the difference as swatched below.

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine #48 Evasion

You already know that I am a huge fan of the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks by Chanel. I love the moisturizing formula, the water-light texture and all the range of colors they have to offer. This time I went for a shade similar to one that already exists in my makeup drawer in just one tone darker and in a different texture (see swatch for Shiseido Laquer Rouge http://mladenaswatches.blogspot.fr/2013/01/shiseido-laquer-rouge-rd-203-new.html).

I was looking for #48 Evasion for some time now. It was not available in stores, but luckily, I found it at a not that frequent airport duty free shop.

I found out about this shade from my sister, she had it first and it looked great and very natural on her as she has light skin tone. At first, I thought it would be too pale for me, but after several tries, I loved the color. It gives me that perfect nude look that I love to have. It goes perfectly with smokey eyes.

#48 Evasion is a sheer nude peach-pink-beige. Depending on your natural lip color it goes from pink to peach and beige. On my lips as swatched it goes more into a beige tone with a hint of peach. As I said the perfect nude look on my lips.
The lipstick gives sheer and hydrating color. You’re not going to get much pigment but you are going to end up with glossy lips with a pinch of color. It does have a hint of shimmer, but you do not really see it when you apply it. As already mentioned in the other Rouge Coco Shine swatches, their glossy nature means that they don’t last long on lips, an hour or two before you have to reapply.
When it comes to the packaging, there is nothing to say about, except: "a bit of luxury in everyday life".

CHANEL nail colour -  # 569 Emprise

CHANEL's spring 2013 makeup collection Printemps Precieux de Chanel offers some beautiful colors this year. Among the products, few new adorable liptistick shades, great illuminating powder and nice nail polish shades.
I must say that the colors of the nails polishes look a bit similar to previous CHANEL collections, but still they are a good choice for spring and summer with colors that should fit all tastes. However if you are fan of CHANEL or DIOR nail polishes and already have quite a lot of them, I am sure you have something similar to these new shades already in your nail wardrobe.
The three new shades are: # 569 Emprise, which is a nude peachy pink shade, # 571 Fracas is a hot pink fuchsia shade and # 573 Accessoire is a plum-brown shade.

Swatched in a previous post, I love # 503 Inattendu nail polish and went to buy a new bottle. But my favorite Inattendu wasn't available, so I was introduced to the new CHANEL's 2013 spring collection and I found something interesting that might, just might be a supstitute for Inattendu for this season. This purchased new shade very similar to my favorite is # 569 Emprise.

 # 569 Emprise is described as a "natural rosy beige", but I would describe it as a soft pink nude shade with a hint of soft peach. The pink shade makes it very CHANEL. Depending on the light, it might look more pink or more beige. There is a subtle pearl shimmer you see in the bottle, but once on the nail it has a creamy finish with only a light portion of shimmer you do not even notice.

I have applied two thick coats in order to obtain a full opaque coverage, and maybe even a third last thin coat is needed. But be carefull and wait for the first coat to dry out before appling the second one, which is not the case with other colors.  As my skin is tanned at the moment, the color pops up a bit and does not make the shade very nude as I expected. Maybe # 569 Emprise is more for those having a brighter skin tone.

Although I am CHANEL nail polish fan, for this collection, my feelings are mixed. When you see the nail polish collection, you have this familiar feel, it is not something brand new and original and I am used to always have original shades from CHANEL. I hope that I can still find Inattendu in some shops as to me it is the best unique nude shade on the market.

CHANEL nail colour Le Vernis retails for 22,50€ in France.
CHANEL Rouge Allure - Exaltée # 93

In Autumn 2012, CHANEL launched a reformulated Rouge Allure Luminous Intense lipsticks.
I wanted a new lipstick in a cheerful shade and the first thing I check is what CHANEL has to offer. I tried few of these new shades and very quickly my choice was made. Exaltée # 93, a lovely and like no other fuchsia shade is my new lipstick.
Being a huge fan of the CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks which offer more transparent shades (check previous posts), I am quite satisfied with my purchase from the Rouge Allure collection. I use my two favorite shades (Aventure and Flirt) of Rouge Coco Shine almost every day and I simply adore them, while Exaltée goes more for an evening make up, at least to me.

Exaltée # 93 is a pretty fuchsia pink described as an intense fuchsia by CHANEL, but I have to say that it looks more sophisticated than some other lipsticks of this shade. It has smooth texture and optimal hold. It delivers mostly opaque finish with a slight sheer that makes your lips look moisturized. Its moisturizing formula is good enough to feel comfortable wearing it. The wear time is satisfying.

I must say that the packaging is gorgeous as you would expect from a CHANEL lipstick. It is encased in a sleek black outer case and a clicky top with the classic gold Chanel logo.

The color looks exactly the same as it swatched. It is a great shade for this end of Winter period, to take away the greyness by putting a cheerful lipstick that will make your face glow, but also the perfect shade for the upcoming Spring and Summer months.

CHANEL Rouge Allure Le Rouge Intense retails for 31,50€ in France.

DIOR Vernis - Lucky #659

Dior released four new shades of nail polishes for its Summer 2012 Collection Dior Vernis Addict Extreme nail color: Lucky, Riviera, Incognito and Plaza that matches perfectly the Dior Addict Extreme lipsticks.
The nail polishes are vibrant and full of pigmentation. They will put a smile on your face every time you look your nails with these cheerful colors. They have a creamy finish and a full coverage with two coats. The texture and brush are great for an easy application.

Lucky #659 is a mix of coral, red and hot pink. It is a vibrant color that changes according to the light, it can look pink, it can look red depending on the light. That is why this shade is so unique and pretty, you can never decide whether is red or pink.  Or I can even say that it can be pinkish red or redish pink whether you put one or two coats. Here I used two coats. But the photos are taken with flash so it is difficult to show the real color, here it looks much more coral and bright than the color really is.

It is the perfect shade for summer. I adore it on my fingers and toes. The wear time is great (one week) especially if you use a top coat.

CHANEL nail colour - # 503 Inattendu

As promised, after Particulière (swatched here http://mladenaswatches.blogspot.fr/2013/01/chanel-nail-colour-505-particuliere.html) here is swatched Inattendu from Chanel 2010 Spring Collection.
When I first saw this shade, I went for it right away. It is a shade for everyone, you can not dislike it. It is a nude shade that everyone should have. I am going to buy my second bottle as I really love it.

# 503 Inattendu is a neutral light peach shade. It is a warm shade and is perfect for spring. I would put it in the nude category, although it is not a classic nude nail polish which is the reason I particularly adore it. It has its own originality as every Chanel nail polish shade.
It has a creamy finish and no shimmer. It has the right amount of pigment, so you can have a good coverage with one thick coat or two normal coats. The second photo is taken with flash indoors, so the color looks one tone lighter than it really is in daylight.

CHANEL nail colour - # 505 Particulière

Chanel nail colour in Particulière was launched in the 2010 Spring Collection together with two other colours: Tendresse which is a soft pink and Inattendu which is an untypical nude with peachy undertones (swatch cooming soon). You can still find these colours in stores.

Although Particulière is from the 2010 collection, it is a colour that is still fashionable especially for the winter months.
As you already might know, Chanel is my favorite brand for nail colours, I want to have them all, however I choose my favorites in every season's collection. The originality in colours and the quality of these is something that I love. I have to say that my second choice for nail colour is Dior as they also often launch an interesting collection with lovely colours and the quality of these is also very good.

with flash

# 505 Particulière is a combo of several colours and I would say that it fits into the grey/mushroom/taupe/brown category with a creme finish. It is difficult to say whether is more grey or more brown, but to me this colour is great. It has something unique and worth to own it. There are many other brands that have similar colours, ones more with grey undertones, others with brown, but for me Chanel is the one and I can not compare it to any other nail polish. The application is smooth, even and pigmented. I have applied two coats in order to have an opaque finish.

The photo above is taken with flash so the colour in the bottle looks lighter that it really is, but on the second photo taken indoors, the colour is shown as it is in real.

Rouge d'Armani - # Rouge 400

Giorgio Armani creates high quality make up products. I use few of them (Rouge d'Armani lipstick, Eyes to Kill mascara and High precision retouch concealer) and I can say that I am highly satisfied.
Rouge d'Armani is a lipstick that offers full lasting color. It doesn't dry your lips, it is very comfortable to wear, and yet the wear time is very long, especially for the darker colors. The color range is large, from bright shades like beige and pink all the way to darker ones like red and brown. The packaging is very elegant, a black lacquered case with a magnetic closure, maybe a bit heavy but luxurious.

Rouge d'Armani # Rouge 400
with flash
The "400" is the red range. I chose # Rouge 400 which is a stunning red color. I usually do not wear red lipsticks, as you might have noticed, I am more fond of nude colors, but this one has me captivated. I must say that is a fabulous red and I adore it.

with flash

As you can see from the swatch (taken with flash) it is a very pigmented intense true red, and yet it is only one swipe on my hand. It looks a bit like flashy red because of the flash but it is a bit darker in real. It has an opaque coverage with a creamy finish and a natural shine. Or I could say also a slight glossy finish, just what you need, and eventually goes into semi-matte finish. I confirm that it is a true long lasting lipstick, I can wear it for few hours, even after eating, drinking and taking, it is still here. It turns into more matte after few hours of wear time.

Of course you will have to use a lip pencil in order to perfectly define your lips before applying the lipstick. As it is an intensive color, the lip pencil will protect the appearance of those small colored lines above your lips and will also extend the hold of the lipstick.
However, as it is a highly pigmented lip color, you will need more time to take it off and a good make up remover.

Rouge d'Armani retails for 31,50€ in France.

Dior Diorific Vernis - # 751 Marilyn
Diorific Vernis is just one product of the Holiday 2012 Dior Collection called Grand Ball Collection.
Honestly I did not have the intention of buying a new red nail polish but when I saw this limited edition of Dior Grand Ball Winter 2012 Collection, I went for it right away. And to be honest, first I liked the bottle and than what was in it. However I was seduced right away by the color # 751 Marilyn although a classic red but with a tint of originality. The nail polish collection is composed of 4 shades: # 011 Lady a pearly soft snow white, # 751 Marilyn a classic red, # 901 Diva a dark black with golden shimmers and # 207 Diorling a champagne golden shade with a large proportion of gold shimmers. For this holiday collection, Dior repackaged the nail polishes, and the bottle is just so cute with its golden topper. It brings to you the magic of the holidays. The brush is a bit shorter than usual, but this is no trouble. The application is easy because you can handle perfectly the cap with your fingers.

Diorific Vernis # 751 Marilyn

# 751 Marilyn is a vibrant true ruby red, perfect to wear during the holidays. It has a bit of raspberry shade depending on the light which I like and makes it different from the other red nail polishes. If you bring the bottle to light you will notice some gold shimmers which you will not see on the nails. On the photos taken with flash, I have only one coat applied and I find it quite enough as you can reach full opacity because of its high pigmentation. The colour tends to raspberry with one coat and deeper red with two coats. I like them both. After few days of wearing with one coat, I renew the colour by applying a second coat.

Diorific Vernis # 751 Marilyn

The wear time is  long. Personally, I can wear it for one week or even 10 days but always with a top coat that protects the colour and gives it a shiny effect. I always use Essie's top coats which are great. I use Essie Good to go which is a transparent rapid dry top coat. You can apply your nail polish, apply the top coat Good to go and your nail are dry right away. In the same time, this top coat protects the colour so it lasts longer, but it also revives the colour each time you apply it by giving it a shiny finish because of its transparent colour.

Essie - Good to go top coat

Dior Diorific Vernis retails for around 23€ in France.
Essie Good to go retails for around 10€ in France.

CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine
#57 Aventure
#69 Flirt

When Chanel released their new lipstick Rouge Coco Shine, I went right away for #57 Aventure. It became my favorite one, I always have it with me. This is my second time as I buy the same one, but this time I also went for #69 Flirt, a color that I've been looking for for a long time.

The packaging is fancy, tiny and slim, so you can easily put it in any kind of bag or in a pocket even. You can apply it very easily without looking yourself in the mirror.
Rouge Coco Shine is fresh and soft, with great comfort and hydrating formula that gives wet-look on lips. It is like a colored lip balm. It feels like it becomes fluid when you apply it on your lips and provides a natural glossy effect with natural shine. It has some translucency that does not make it heavy.

Left - Aventure, Right - Flirt

#57 Aventure is soft pink with a bit of gold shimmers you can not even notice. My natural lip color is dark pink, so #57 Aventure gives me natural pink lips. The color is not exactly the same in the tube and on the lips as you can see from the photos. In the tube it looks much more pink and flashy that it really is. But it is the texture of all Rouge Coco Shine, all shades look much more flashy in the tube and on the lips they are just glossy, fresh and lighter. Rouge Coco Shine is not as much pigmented as other typical lipsticks, that is why we have this effect.

#69 Flirt is a shimmering peach pink coral. It is a shade that I really adore and been looking for it for quite some time. It is not orange, tangerine, typical coral or pink, but of course it all depends on your natural lip color. It is a great shade and goes well with my skin tone. It goes even better on tanned skin. Again, it looks much more orange/coral in the tube that it really is once applied on the lips.

The next photo (with flash) where I swatched the two shades on my skin show their real color.
Up - Flirt, Down - Aventure

Although the colors and the texture are great and I love them, I must point out that the wear time is not long, at least for me personally. The shiny wet-look effect goes away quickly, while the color stays a bit longer. But personally I have a solution to that, I always have my Rouge Coco Shine in my bag and I reapply in a second when needed.

Rouge Dior Nude Lip Blush #459 Charnelle

The Fall/Winter 2012 Collection of Dior includes the Rouge Dior Nude lip blush available in 10 nude blush-effect shades, from beige to pink and berry. Rouge Dior Nude is a rich and creamy balm I could say that gives a natural finish. For all those who want a nude natural look on your lips, this is a great choice.

Rouge Dior Nude is soft and light in texture, like a hydrating lip balm, so I feel very comfortable wearing it. It is very appropriate the name of blush for lips as it enhances the natural color of the lips by just adding a little of these beige or pink nude shade. It gives not too shiny not too creamy or matte look and it doesn't dry your lips. The perfect lip balm and a tint for lips.

I chose #459 Charnelle which suits best my natural lip color and I love it. This color is described as rosewood pink nude. The lipstick is swatched as shown bellow on the photos taken indoors with flash. The color appears exactly the same on the photos as it is in real.

It is the perfect nude for me! I can have that "no make up" natural look with this lipstick. It illuminates your face and brings freshness. It is nothing like other nude lipcolors that are too pale or lifeless. I am sure you will love it!

Rouge Dior Nude retails for 30,50€ in France.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Sin

Urban Decay is well known for primer potions and it is one of its best seller products. So what is primer and why use it? Primer helps eyeshadow last longer and helps prevent those creases that occur on the eye at the end of the day which everybody hates. Eyeshadow primer is an eyeshadow base.

There are four different variations of this primer: Eden, Greed, Original and Sin. For my hazelnut eyes i chose Sin which is a Champagne Shimmer. It can be used as primer, highlighter or eyeshadow on its own which I mostly use and I adore it. It is easy to apply, it gives you a fresh look and lasts for long time. You might need an eye make up remover to take it off more easily when cleaning your face. Even when you apply it, if you apply it with your fingers you will need to wash them longer as it does not come out right away, but that is not a problem at all, trust me.

Original is a Sheer Nude color or I can say transparent or invisible, so a true eyeshadow base which is also excellent but to use it only as pure primer. It highlights perfectly the eyeshadow, you'll be amazed by the difference.

The packaging was in a bottle before and now it is in tube which I find it easier to use.

Shiseido Laquer Rouge - #RD 203

The new Shiseido liquid lipstick inspired by Japanese innovation as all their other products, will give you the long-lasting effect that everybody is looking for. They call it nail polish for lips.

I purchased the #RD 203 Portrait because I prefer light nude colors for my lips and it goes well with my skin tone.  Laquer Rouge is a combo of gloss and lipstick, that is why it has this long-lasting effect. I can assure you, the color last on the lips for quite a few hours and still looks fresh as just applied, which is often not the case with other lip glosses or lipsticks. It has a rich foundation, so one coat on your lips gives you an opaque coverage. You can wear it for every occasion, for a totally nude day look, or with smoky eyes for a night out.

This last photo was taken with flash, so the color looks pinkish and lighter that it really is. But the photos above although taken also with flash, show the real color of the #RD 203 Portrait as it is in day light. The color is more beige than pink.
